This tour gives you the opportunity to enjoy the striking contrasts in the city's characteristics, which Athens so fascinating. Our expert guides take you on a tour of the city center, including visits to CONSTITUTION SQUARE (Syntagma), the HOUSE OF PARLIAMENT, the MEMORIAL to the UNKNOWN SOLDIER and the NATIONAL LIBRARY.
Driving down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their traditional uniforms and the PRESIDENTIAL PALACE. On your way to the Acropolis you will see Hadrian's Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and you will make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games if the modern era were held in 1896.
On the ACROPOLIS you will visit its Museum and the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the PROPYLAEA, the TEMPLE of ATHENA NIKE, the ERECHTHEION and, finally, "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in the mind", the PARTHENON.
Your evening will start with a ride to the port of Piraeus, passing by the port of Zeas (private yachts) and a short stop at the famous Mikrolimano where you will enjoy a glass of ouzo with Greek appetizers. Then you will drive back to Athens, to the old area of Plaka, for dinner in a typical Greek Tavern with bouzouki music and Greek Folk Dancing.

Drive along the coastal road, past the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza to the most southern point of Attica, Cape SOUNION, where the white marble pillars of the TEMPLE of POSSEIDON stand. On the way you will have a splendid view of the SARONIC GULF and the little surrounding islands. After visiting the Temple of Poseidon, you will have time to take a stroll on the rocky promontory of Sounion.
Drive through the fertile plain of Boeotia, crossing the towns of THEBES, which is connected to the tragedy of King Oedipus - LEVADIA and ARACHOVA, famous for its colorful rugs and carpets (short stop). Arrive at DELPHI, the center of the Ancient world - the "Omphalos" (Navel) of the Earth - whose greatness extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic world. On the slopes of MOUNT PARNASSUS, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the SANCTUARY of APOLLO PYTHIOS.
Visit the TREASURY OF THE ATHENIANS, the TEMPLE OF APOLLO and the MUSEUM containing such masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Lunch in the modern village of DELPHI; return to ATHENS by the same route.
Leave by the coastal road along the SARONIC CULF to the CORINTH CANAL, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. (Short stop).
Drive on to MYCENAE, the Homeric City of the Atreides - the city "rich in gold" that ancient poets wrote about. (Visit the LION'S GATE, the CYCLOPEAN WALLS, the ROYAL TOMBS etc.).
Depart for NAFPLION through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the PALAMIDI FORTRESS.
After lunch leave for EPIDAURUS to visit the THEATRE (4th century BC), which is renowned for its astonishing acoustics. Return to ATHENS by the national road connecting EPIDAURUS with CORINTH.
Lunch in MYCENAE or NAFPLION.

2nd DAY: The whole morning is free for you to see more of the rugged grandeur of DELPHI and to take photographs to remind you of its beauty. Return to Athens by the same route.
Participants of this tour will have an afternoon and a morning free in order to see more of the picturesque town of NAFPLION, the city the Venetians called "Naples of Greece".
1st DAY: CORINTH CANAL - MYCENAE (visit) - NAFPLION, afternoon free. Dinner, overnight.
2nd DAY: NAFPLION - EPIDAURUS (visit) - return to ATHENS.

1st DAY:
Leave by the coastal road to the CORINTH CANAL (short stop). Drive on and visit the famous theatre of EPIDAURUS. Next we proceed to NAFPLION (short stop) and then drive on to MYCENAE to visit the archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Departure for Olympia via the Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripoli and Megalopoli. Overnight in OLYMPIA, the cradle of the OLYMPIC GAMES (dinner).
2nd DAY:
In the morning, departure for the archaeological site and the Sanctuary of OLYMPIAN ZEUS, the ancient stadium and the archaeological museum. Drive through the plains of ELIAD and ACHAIA until we meet the spectacular bridge that crosses the Corinthian Bay from Rio to Antirion. Then, pass by the picturesque towns of NAFPAKTOS and ITEA. Arrival in DELPHI. Overnight (dinner).
3rd DAY:
In the morning, visit the archaeological site and the MUSEUM. Then drive through the village of ARACHOVA, renowned for its colorful rugs and carpets. Return to ATHENS via LEVADIA and THEBES, arriving early in the evening.

Return to ATHENS via TRIKALA, LAMIA, THERMOPYLAE. (Visit the LEONIDAS’S MONUMENT). Arrival in ATHENS early in the evening.

1st DAY:
Leave for DELPHI via THEBES, LEVADIA and the picturesque village of ARACHOVA, on the slopes of MOUNT PARNASSUS (short stop). Visit the SANCTUARY OF APOLLO PYTHIOS (TREASURY of the ATHENIANS, TEMPLE of APOLLO, etc.) and the MUSEUM. Afternoon free. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at DELPHI.
2nd DAY:
Morning free. Leave DELPHI for an interesting trip through Central Greece and the town of LAMIA to KALAMBAKA. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight.
3rd DAY:
Visit METEORA, an area of particularly impressive scenery: AGELESS MONASTERIES containing priceless historical and religious treasures, stand suspended between earth and sky, on top of huge granite rocks. Return to ATHENS via TRIKALA, LAMIA THERMOPYLAE (visit LEONIDAS MONUMENT) and KAMMENA VOURLA. Arrive at ATHENS early in the evening.

1st DAY:
Transfer to renowned DELPHI. Two hours at leisure to stroll in the quaint village, enjoy the breathtaking scenery from the slopes of MOUNT PARNASSUS to ITEA, take pictures and enjoy a "Greek Coffee". Depart for KALAMBAKA, passing through picturesque villages and towns of central Greece. Dinner and overnight.
2nd DAY:
Visit METEORA and enjoy a unique and most impressive scenery with AGELESS MONASTERIES, containing priceless historical and religious treasures, standing between the earth and sky atop huge rocks. Return to Athens via TRIKALA, LAMIA, THERMOPYLAE (visit the LEONIDAS MONUMENT) and KAMMENA VOURLA.
Leave Athens and drive South West until we reach the Corinth Canal, which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop).
Drive on and visit the Ancient Town of Corinth where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. The remains of the City which include the Agora (market place) and Apollo's Temple (6 th century BC (clearly show how rich and important Corinth was in Ancient Times. A short stop at the Site of the Ancient Port of Cehries, where St. Paul disembarked, will conclude the visit. Return to Athens in time for Lunch. |
