St. Paul's steps tour Turkey & Greece - 18 Days



Arrival Istanbul. Meet and assit and transfer you to hotel. Over night. (No Meals)

Day 2: Istanbul Full Day Old City Tour

After breakfast, we begin the day's tour with a visit to Chora Church, then the Byzantine Hippodrome, with Emperor Theodosius' Column, and visit to the Delphi Tripod. Our next stops are the Agia Sophia Cathedral, the Blue Mosque. Lunch at a traditional restaurant Finally, we will visit the Topkapi Palace. Return to the hotel. Stay overnight in Istanbul. (Breaksfast, Lunch)

Day 3: Istanbul Full Day City Tour

After breakfast drive to the suburb of Sariyer along the European shore of the Bosphorus, passing by charming Ottoman villages full of beautifully decorated 19th entury houses. We return by ferry, cruising down the Bosphorus, gliding past palaces and the Rumeli Hisari and Anadolu Hisari Fortresses. In the afternoon, we will visit the Palace of Dolmabahce on the shore of the Bosphorus. After lunch free time in Grand Bazaar for shopping. overnight in Istanbul. (Breakfast / Lunch)

Day 4: Istanbul - Cappadocia

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight to Kayseri. Arrival. AND Full day excursion of CAPPADOCIA to see the surreal landscapes of volcanic ash formed 3 million years ago - spectacular red rock cones and troglodyte churches and homes dating from 4000 B.C. Will visit AVANOS, ZELVE, GOREME and Open Air Museum where the remains of rock-cut churches and Christian settlements date back hundreds of year. and then UCHISAR to visit one of its famous pottery workshops. Later return to your hotel for overnight stay. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 5: Cappadocia

After breakfast will visit Kaymakli Underground City, carved by the Hittites about 3500 years ago, this multi-level underground city was used by early Christians as a main shelter from marauding enemies during the 6th and 7th centuries. And we stop at the spectacular vista point overlooking Pigeon Valley and photo stop. We will continue with IHLARA VALLEY to see the impressive Byzantine rock carvings and frescoes. Enjoy your dinner and overnight stay in CAPPADOCIA. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 6: Tarsus - Myrsin

After breakfast drive to TARSUS, birthplace of the apostle Paul. See St. Paul's Well, Cleopatra's Gate and the ancient city. It was near here that a Great Fish "vomited out Jonah upon the dry land". We will continue to Myrsin for overnight stay. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 7: Mersin - Alanya

Continue to the ancient city of SIDE, the old port where Paul, Barnabas and Mark landed during their missionary journeys. Later they sailed from here to ANTIOCH. Than visit PERGE, where St. Paul preached after arriving from Cyprus (Acts 13-14), and to ASPENDOS with its magnificent theatre. Next drive to ANTALYA for dinner and overnight stay.(Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 8: Pamukkale

Proceed to LAODICEA one of the seven churches which was condemned by John in Revelation 4:15. Drive to HIERAPOLIS, now called PAMUKKALE where Philip was martyred. Walk the Necropolis and the famous Avenue of Tombs. Overnight stay in Pamukkale . (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 9: Philadelhia - Sardes - Kusadasi

Visit one of the seven churches of the Apocalypse and the remains of the Cathedral. Continue on to ALASEHIR and see the remains of a church. Visit the capital of ancient LYDIA with its temple to CYBELE & DIANA, which later became a church. See the royal road. Continue to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 10: Ephesus

Drive to SELCUK. Visit the monastery of St. John and EPHESUS, the best preserved ancient city in the world. See the Library of Celsus, a Stadium where Paul Preached (Acts 19), and the Theatre. Depart for KUSADASI, a port near Ephesus. Then have dinner and overnight stay. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 11: IZMIR ( SMYRNA )

This morning after breakfast will take a beautiful drive to IZMIR (ancient SMYRNA). After visiting another one of the seven chuches , the St.. Policarp church in IZMIR, continue to Akhisar, an ancient commercial place in connection with TROY & SARDES. Overnight in Pergamum. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 12: PERGAMUM - Assos - Troy- Cannacale

After breakfast early departure to BERGAMA (Pergamum) to visit the Acropolis high above the plain. We will continue with Assos, Aristotle lived in Assos and St Paul visited . Atop a hill surrounded by olive groves are the ruins of the Doric-style Temple of Athena (530 BC) surrounded by crumbling city walls and an ancient necropolis. Then will visit Troy, the Greek Troia, an ancient city in northwestern Anatolia that holds an enduring place in both literature and archaeology. The legend of the Trojan War is the most notable theme from ancient Greek literature and forms the basis of Homer's Iliad. Over night in Cannacale (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 13: Cannacale - Greek borders Kavala

After breakfast we will crossing Dardanelia and then we will drive to Kavala for over night (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 14: PKavala - Philippi - Thessaloniki

After breakfast at the Hotel, we drive to Philippi, the site where the apostle Paul came and worked, establishing a strong church. We see the river where Lydia is thought to have been baptized, the ruins of a Prison where Paul and Sylas had been kept, the Agora, 5th and 6th century Basilica and the Theatre. Late that afternoon we arrive at Thessaloniki for dinner and overnight. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 15: Thessaloniki -Veria- Meteora - Kalambaka

Breakfast . In the morning, panoramic city tour of Thessaloniki and we drive to Beria. We will visit the Byzantine mosaic in the monument commemorating his preaching. Then we continue our drive to Meteora where we visit in the afternoon the fantastic and breathtaking Byzantine monasteries. Monks seeking isolation and spiritual salvation first built those monasteries in the 14th century. Dinner and overnight at Kalambaka. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 16 : Kalambaka - Delphi - Athens

After breakfast , drive to Delphi. We visit the archaeological site of Delphi, the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, and the Museum containing such masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias. Lunch on your own. Drive to Athens for dinner and overnight at hotel. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 17 : Athens - Corinth

Breakfsat . Our Athens tour will takes us by the Saronic Gulf, where in 480 BC history's root was changed. We stop at the historic Corinthian Canal where we take pictures. We arrive at ancient Corinth. Here we see all of the sites associated with Paul's ministry - the Agora, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon, the Bema and Gallio's Seat. We see the ruins of early Christian 5th century basilica in Cenchreae before returning to Athens. In the afternoon we enjoy our half-day sightseeing tour of Athens. We climb up to the marble-capped Acropolis and visit among the other buildings the famous Parthenon and the Erechtheum. We now have become time travelers! Then, we go to nearby Mars' Hill (Areopagus) (Acts 17:22) where the Apostle Paul delivered his soul-stirring sermon to the giants of philosophy, logic and learning. Return to hotel late at night and overnight. (Breakfast/Dinner)

Day 18 : Departure

Transfer with our representative to Athens International Airport for departure flight.
